Facts about MANCOCare for carers
Wellbeing circles, mentoring for newly qualified midwives, and training that nurses choose for themselves.

MANCO started because nurses and midwives were tired. Long shifts, too few colleagues, night deliveries by phone torchlight, and the weight of the patients they could not help. The pandemic made all of it heavier.
Our constitution names three things every health worker needs in order to do good work: autonomy, belonging and contribution. Care for the Carers is how we try to provide them. Monthly wellbeing circles give nurses a confidential place to talk. Experienced midwives mentor colleagues in their first two years. Members choose the training topics, and members run the sessions.
A rested, respected midwife makes better decisions at 3am. This programme is how we look after the people who look after everyone else.
